For more than 22 years, I worked in the corporate world with some of the largest retailers throughout Australia. During that time, I owned several businesses and completed six years of university study. Looking back on my professional experiences, I believe there are certain qualities to look for when seeking a business opportunity.
• Your business should attract the best people.
• Your products should be world-class.
• Your opportunity should include a Unique Selling Proposition.
• Your business should give you the maximum return on your investment.
I was recently appointed Managing Director of 4Life Australia and New Zealand. Throughout my discovery phase of this assignment, I paid particular attention to each of the four points above.
People
An executive management team that honors the role of the field is integral to success in our industry. I’m proud to know that 4Life has the right people on the bus and that the corporate management team occupies the right seats. From our executive management team to R&D, our international operational staff to global brand marketing and field communications: Everyone at 4Life is committed to best business practices, customer service, and distributor support.
Products
Products must differentiate themselves in the marketplace. At 4Life, we accomplish this by a commitment to scientific advancement, quality controls, research and development, patents, in-house analytical laboratories, university partnerships, trade associations, rigorous product testing, and a new manufacturing facility in the USA.
Unique Selling Proposition
4Life is committed to three primary pillars: Science, Success, and Service. Our Founder and Chairman of the Board David Lisonbee understood that a unique product would be key to creating an opportunity for distributors to build a dedicated customer base.
Seventeen years later, our President and CEO Steve Tew remains vigilant in concentrating our efforts on programs to support distributor success. As a result, 4Life ranks among the top 50 direct selling companies on the Direct Selling News Global 100 and #27 on the North American Top 50. 4Life distributors continue to advance in rank and, with twenty-four offices around the world, the company continues to expand to support a global network of customers.
Last but not least, service. Foundation 4Life is a non-profit organization committed to fulfilling Co-Founder Bianca Lisonbee’s vision of the responsibility we each have to helping those in need. With a focus on children and communities, Foundation 4Life works to address charitable needs wherever 4Life distributors conduct business.
Return on Investment
People come to 4Life for many reasons. Many simply enjoy our superior line of products. Others participate in the business opportunity. Some seek a 4Life lifestyle. Others work with Foundation 4Life to make a meaningful impact in their community and around the world. In each of these cases, there exists great potential for a return on investment – which is something that anyone looking for an opportunity in our industry must seriously consider.
After more than 10 years in the industry, I have chosen to further my career and my family’s personal growth with 4Life. You may be looking at another opportunity. Regardless of the business you pursue, I believe that it’s the people, products, unique selling proposition, and potential for return on investment that determines success.
